Two Women Dead in Silver Spring Car Accident

Eastbound lanes on University Boulevard are closed for investigation.

Desaleen Rayna James, hospitalized after an accident this morning that claimed the lives of two other women, has been identified as a Silver Spring resident from the 8200 block of New Hampshire Ave., according to Montgomery County Police Spokesman Capt. Paul Starks.

James was admitted to an area hospital for trauma.

An early morning car accident took the lives of two young women and left another in serious condition.

Police identify the two women as Hyattsville residents 22-year-old Jenice Richards and 19-year-old Tamara Nicole Johnson.

The woman hospitalized is identified as 18-year-old Desaleen Rayna James.

About 3:09 a.m. police received a call about an accident in the 600 block of University Boulevard, according to a WTOP news report.

As Montgomery County Police investigate the accident, eastbound lanes will be closed during rush hour.

Montgomery County Police Spokesman Capt. Paul Starks tells WTOP that the vehicle collision occurred in someone’s yard.
