The following information was supplied by the Montgomery County Police Department in its summary of major crimes occurring in the county between Oct. 14 and 22. The mention of an arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction. 

Assaults:

  • An aggravated assault occurred in front of La Frontera (4217 Randolph Rd., Silver Spring) on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 10:52 p.m. The suspect is known to the victim. 
  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 11400 block of Veirs Mill Road in Silver Spring on Sunday, Oct. 19, at 5:20 a.m. The suspect is known to the victim.

  • A strong-arm robbery occurred in the parking lot of the McDonald's restaurant at 8507 Colesville Rd., Silver Spring, on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 11:19 p.m. The suspects are known to the victim.
  • A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 1300 block of Dilston Place in Silver Spring on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 9:15 p.m. The suspects forcefully removed property from the victim, then fled. An 18-year-old man from Oxon Hill was arrested.
  • An armed robbery occurred in the 1600 block of Treetop View Terrace in Silver Spring on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 4:30 a.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. An 18-year-old man from Silver Spring and a 35-year-old man from Hyattsville were arrested.
  • An armed robbery occurred in the 13800 block of Old Columbia Pike in Silver Spring on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 7:20 a.m. The suspects threatened the victim and obtained property. 
  • A strong-arm robbery occurred at Kennedy High School (1901 Randolph Rd., Silver Spring) on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 11:28 a.m. The suspect assaulted the victim and obtained property. A 16-year-old juvenile male from Silver Spring was arrested.
  • An armed robbery occurred in the 14000 block of Connecticut Avenue in Silver Spring on Friday, Oct. 11, at 9:30 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. 
  • A strong-arm robbery occurred in the 3700 block of Capulet Terrace in Silver Spring on Monday, Oct. 21, at 11:53 a.m. The suspect forcefully removed property from the victim. 

Commercial burglary:

  • A commercial burglary occurred in the 11100 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring between Friday, Oct. 18, at 5 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 21, at 7 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 8400 block of Houston Avenue in Silver Spring on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 4:31 a.m. Unknown entry; property taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred in the unit block of Sunnyside Road in Silver Spring between 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, and 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21. Forced entry; property taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 500 block of Thayer Avenue in Silver Spring on Monday, Oct. 21, between 3:36 and 4:30 p.m. Forced entry; property taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 1200 block of East-West Highway in Silver Spring on Tuesday, Oct. 22, between 2 and 5 p.m. Unknown entry; property taken.  
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 2200 block of Forest Glenn Road in Silver Spring on Wednesday, Oct. 16, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Forced entry; property taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 9800 block of Rosenteel Avenue in Silver Spring on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 2:30 p.m. Unknown entry; property taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred on Monday, Oct. 21, between 7:15 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. in the 700 block of Ludlow Street in Silver Spring. Unknown entry; property taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred on Monday, Oct. 21, at 6:29 p.m. in the 700 block of Ludlow Street in Silver Spring. 
  • A residential burglary occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 16, between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the 10800 block of Margate Road in Silver Spring. Unknown entry; unknown what was taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 16, between 8 a.m. and 2:42 p.m. in the 500 block of Northwest Drive in Silver Spring. No forced entry; property taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 16, between 10 a.m. and 4:18 p.m. in the 9800 block of Cottrell Terrace in Silver Spring. Forced entry; property taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 11:09 a.m. in the 100 block of Snowy Owl Drive in Silver Spring. No forced entry; unknown what was taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 5:40 a.m. in the 400 block of Burnt Mills Avenue in Silver Spring. Unknown entry; unknown what was taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred between 5:30 a.m. and 4:26 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the 900 block of Northampton Drive in Silver Spring. Forced entry; property taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 11400 block of July Drive in Silver Spring on Saturday, Oct. 19, between 6 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. No forced entry; property taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 11300 block of Columbia Pike in Silver Spring on Monday, Oct. 21, at 1:54 p.m.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 15100 block of Woottens Drive in Silver Spring between 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, and 3:16 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18. Items were taken from an unlocked shed. 
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 14000 block of Castle Boulevard in Silver Spring on Friday, Oct. 18, at 4:22 a.m. The suspect is known to the victim. 
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 16600 block of Harbour Town Drive in Silver Spring on Sunday, Oct. 20, between noon and 5:30 p.m. Unknown entry; property taken. 
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 3700 block of Woodridge Avenue in Silver Spring on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m. No forced entry; property taken. 

Thefts from vehicles:

  • Eight thefts from vehicles occurred between Tuesday, Oct. 15, and Monday, Oct. 21, between the late-evening and early-morning hours. Cash, tools, a GPS system and an iPod were stolen. Streets targeted included Normandy Drive (three incidents), Brisbane Street (two incidents), Saybrook Avenue, Brightleaf Court and Granville Drive in Silver Spring.  

Indecent exposure:

  • An indecent exposure occurred in the 2000 block of Georgian Woods Place in Silver Spring on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 9:03 p.m. The suspect—an 18-year-old man of unknown address—exposed himself and was arrested.
