Silver Spring Man Found Dead in Apartment from Gunshot

Montgomery County Police (MCP) are investigating the shooting death of a Silver Spring resident that occurred Wednesday.

About 4:50 p.m. police found Eric Somuah, the victim, dead in his apartment in the 1100 block of East West Highway with an apparent gunshot wound, according to police officials.

Somuah was transported to Baltimore to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy so that the cause of death could be identified, according to an official release.

It’s unclear at this time what circumstances may have led to Somuah’s death but detectives are asking for anyone who may have information to contact the crimes division at 240-773-5070.
