Silver Spring Man Charged in Sexual Assault, Impersonating Officer

Nicholas Morales-Macedo, 21, impersonated a Montgomery County Police officer, according to police.

Montgomery County police have charged a Silver Spring man with one count of first-degree sex offense and one count of first-degree assault in the impersonation of a police officer and a sexual assault, according to court records.

Nicholas Morales-Macedo, 21, logged onto a personal ad website— backpage.com— to solicit the services of a prostitute, according to police officials.

The woman contacted via the site left her Washington, DC, home by cab
to travel to the 9400 Block of Thornhill Road in Silver Spring to meet
with Morales-Macedo, according to police.

When she arrived, she followed the suspect inside, discovering he had a knife and a rifle, police said. Morales-Macedo claimed he was a Montgomery County police officer and the woman did not resist the assault for fear of her life, police said. When she left the home, she contacted police, reported the sexual assault and identified Morales-Macedo.

Morales-Macedo is currently being held in the Montgomery County Detention Center on a $2 million bond. A trial date has been set for July 13 at 10 a.m. in Rockville.
