Thieves Target Montgomery County Parking Garages, Break Car Windows
Police: The incidents took place in Silver Spring mainly during the early evening hours.
Cash, clothing, cell phones and GPS devices were stolen during a string of thefts from vehicles in Silver Spring earlier this month, Montgomery County police said.
The thief (or thieves) entered seven cars in downtown Silver Spring between July 31 and Aug. 4, police said.
Six of the incidents involved broken windows, and six of the incidents took place in county parking garages on Bonifant Street, Ellsworth Drive, Wayne Avenue and Georgia Avenue, police said. (See the map above for approximate locations provided by county police.)
The incidents occurred primarily during the early evening hours, police said.
