Wanted: Police Need Your Help Finding Bank Robbery Suspect

The robbery was committed about three years ago in Silver Spring.

Montgomery County Police and the FBI continue their investigation into an attempted bank robbery in Silver Spring.

Eagle Bank—located on 8665 Georgia Ave.—reported an attempted robbery on September 18, 2009 and police officials arrived on the scene around 3 p.m.

An initial investigation revealed that an unidentified black man entered the bank, approached a teller, and demanded cash, according to police.

But he left before taking any cash from the bank because he may have been startled, police said.

No one was injured during the incident.

He is described as a black man, standing 5-feet and 7-inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with a muscular upper body build.

Police officials say he appears to be in his 30’s and had a mustache and goatee at the time of the incident. He was also wearing a black baseball cap and a black T-shirt with white lettering that says “Jive Jungle”.

The Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division asks that anyone with information about this attempted bank robbery call 240-773-5100.
