Construction to Sensory Garden Underway
The changes to the sensory garden should be complete by Friday but it's still unknown when the garden will reopen to the public during the weekday.
The construction to the sensory garden adjacent to the Discovery Communications Global Headquarters is moving forward after an approval from Montgomery County Parks and Planning. Construction workers on site from Long Fence, a fencing company based in Maryland, added tall black posts to playground surrounding the daycare last week Friday to make space for the additional fencing.
The site amendment plan was approved earlier this year to increase the safety of the building. In addition to the fencing in the sensory garden, a secured door from inside the building will be added that would go directly to the playground.
The garden would remain the same, but shrubs and vines would be added to the new fence. Inside the front lobby, located at the intersection of Wayne and Georgia, new security measures would be also added.
