Dedication Ceremony Unveils Sculpture on Veterans Plaza

Montgomery County officials will unveil a new bronze and glass sculpture.

County Executive Isiah Leggett (D) will be joined by Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-Dist. 8) and County Council President Valerie Ervin (D-Dist. 5) to unveil “Tribute to Our Veterans”, a new bronze and glass sculpture at Veterans Plaza on Friday, Nov. 11. The ceremony will be held from 11 a.m. to noon.

Other participants include World War II veteran U.S. Army Captain (Ret) Jack Hewitt and Montgomery County Commission on Veterans Affairs Chair Bill Gray.

The free dedication ceremony is part of a schedule of activities planned for the day to honor veterans and their families.

The Silver Spring Town Center, Inc., and the Commission on Veterans Affairs will host the fourth annual “Tribute to America’s Veterans” concert at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall of the .

The concert will feature Piedmont Blues and Warner Williams.
