Event Celebrates Annual Program That Has Helped 15,000 Disadvantaged County Residents by Awarded $500,000 in Gift Cards to Those in Need

Montgomery County residents take to the runway at the 4th annual Unique Closet Fashion Show hosted by Unique Thrift Store through its Unique Closet Gift Certificate Program, which has distributed gift cards and helped more than 15,000 local individuals in need since 2007.

Montgomery County Councilmember George Leventhal and WUSA TV’s J. Carter will emcee this year’s fashion show and join Unique Thrift Store in presenting a check for another $100,000 to be awarded in the form of gift cards for redemption at the store to purchase clothing, winter coats, school supplies, shoes, furniture, housewares, and other necessities. J. Carter will provide fashion and thrift-store shopping tips and join local residents and County leaders as they model the wide variety of stylish, quality, and affordable attire available at Unique Thrift Store. Admission to the event is free.
