Flu Vaccination Clinics Available to County Residents

Montgomery County residents can schedule an appointment with any of the five locations.

As flu season approaches, Montgomery County health officials are offering free vaccinations at designated clinic locations.

County Health Officer Dr. Ulder J. Tillman urges anyone over the age of six months to get a vaccine.

"Vaccination is the best way to protect against getting the flu," said Tillman.

The 2011-2012 seasonal flu vaccine includes protection against the H1N1 virus, along with influenza A and influenza B strains. Only one vaccination is needed this year. There will not be separate vaccinations for H1N1 and seasonal influenza.

Visits are by appointment only and to schedule one residents can visit the county's website or call 311.

Schedule flu vaccinations at any of the following locations:

  • , located at 8630 Fenton St., from 1-4 p.m. Appointment dates include: Nov. 3, Nov. 10 , Nov. 17, Dec. 1 and Dec. 8.
  • , located at 11135 Newport Mill Rd., on Monday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to noon. (Clinic for school-age children only)
  • Seneca Valley High School, located at 19407 Crystal Rock Dr., on Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to noon. (Clinic for school-age children only)
  • Germantown Health Center, located on 12900 Middlebrook Rd., 2nd floor from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointment dates include: Nov. 3, Nov. 10, Nov. 17, Dec. 1, Dec. 8 and Dec. 15.
  • Universities at Shady Grove, Bldg. II, located at 9630 Gudelsky Dr., on Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 4:40 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
