Each Monday, we’ll bring you the latest information on construction delays, road closures and other issues that affect traffic in Silver Spring.

Regular Road Closings

• Ellsworth Drive from Fenton Street to Georgia Avenue is closed to vehicular traffic each weekend from Friday 5:00 p.m. to Sunday 11:00 p.m.

 Short-term Work Zones

• Fenton Street at Wayne Avenue, be aware of various lanes being temporarily blocked.

Long-term Work Zones

• Watch for ongoing construction of the new Silver Spring Transit Center at Colesville Road and Wayne Avenue.

• Forest Glen Community Street, Sidewalk and Curb Renewal (now 35 percent complete) – Look for one-way traffic on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. with flaggers directing traffic. View the attached map and PDF for more information.

• The Oranges Community Street, Sidewalk and Curb Renewal (began June 1) - Look for one-way traffic on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. with flaggers directing traffic. View the attached map and PDF for more information.

•  Work on resurfacing University Boulevard between Arcola Avenue and Colesville Road continues - watch for single lane closures on University, weekdays from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and overnight Sunday through Thursday 9:00p.m. - 5:00 a.m.; watch for double lanes closures overnight Sunday through Thursday 11:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.
