Metro Track News: Red Line Delays Expected
Track work planned from June 15 through June 17.
Red Line travelers should add an extra 15 minutes to their travel time this weekend, Metro advised on its website.
To allow for platform construction Red Line trains will single track between Takoma Park ad Forest Forest Glen stations. Officials have approved fiber optic cable installation and platform reconstruction.
Between Friendship Heights and Medical Center stations a construction crew will renew a third-rail insulator and conduct rail joint elimination which will allow for a smoother ride, according to Metro officials.

Metro advises riders to expect trains between Shady Grove and Glenmont to operate every 24 minutes throughout the weekend.
