Pepco Satisfaction Survey Released

The survey measured the frequency of outages and costs associated with the outages.

About 12,000 people took part in a survey in Montgomery County to understand some of the issues that residents and businesses were experiencing. The survey measured the frequency of outages, costs associated with the outages, and legislation that residents and businesses would support in order to improve this situation.

The average costs per resident related to the outages was between $100 to $500 dollars and about 25 percent experienced losses between $500 to $1,000. On the other hand, businesses had even greater financial lost associated with the outages. About 50 percent of the businesses who took the survey lost between $1,000 to $10, 000.

County Executive Isiah Leggett released the results in Annapolis on Monday and was pleased by the insight the survey provided.

“The data gives us some very useful information that we can use to assess the economic impacts associated with long outages. But, it also gives us a pretty clear picture of the extent to which policy choices made by legislators are likely to be supported by Pepco customers,” said Leggett.

and it took Pepco officials about 3 days to restore the majority of those customers.
