This committee meets every third Wednesday of the month to discuss road conditions, transportation projects, pedestrian safety and related issues.

The Silver Spring Transportation and Pedestrian Safety Committee will meet to discuss multiple issues Wednesday evening at the Silver Spring Civic Center building (1 Veterans Place). The following issues are on the agenda:

  • Downtown Silver Spring hosts one of the biggest parades in the area. Board members will discuss the route with Montgomery County planners.
  • The police department will give an update about safety, accident and transportation issues of the past month.
  • The committee will discuss dangerous areas such as roads, sidewalks, intersections and lighting in Silver Spring and Long Branch that could be addressed to prevent crime.
  • They will be updated on budget issues in relation to County Council responses.

This committee is chaired by Darian Unger (darianunger@yahoo.com) and any concerns about these issues can be addressed to him.
