Silver Spring Committees Take on Proposed Curfew Law

The goal is to put the issues on the table, official says.

The proposed curfew law for Montgomery County teens tops the agenda for a joint committee meeting Wednesday.

Since the legislation was initiated by Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett in July, local teens and officials have delved into the idea further by trying to find a compromise.

Silver Spring Neighborhoods Committee along with the Transportation/Pedestrian Safety Committee (TPSC) hold a joint session to discuss the issue at a 7:30 p.m. meeting in the Silver Spring Civic Center.

Local and county officials will present their perspective on the issue including Third District Commander Donald Johnson and Coordinators Abigail Burman and Leah Muskin-Pierret from Stand Up To The Montgomery County Curfew Law.
