Several lanes of MD 410, also known as East West Highway, in downtown Silver Spring will be closed Saturday so crews can hoist roofing materials onto the Lenox Park Apartments.

From a news release:

Several lanes of MD 410, also known as East West Highway, in downtown Silver Spring will be closed Saturday so construction crews can hoist roofing materials onto the Lenox Park Apartments.

The work will require lane closures and lane shifts along MD 410 (East West Highway) in downtown Silver Spring between MD 390 (16th Street) and US 29 (Colesville Road). The company has coordinated with the State Highway Administration to perform the work, maintain traffic and ensure the safety or drivers, pedestrians and workers.

Beginning at 5 a.m., a large crane will be placed in front of the Lenox Park apartment building, located at 1400 East West Highway. Weather permitting, all traffic lanes should be open no later than 7 p.m. Saturday night.

To perform the work, the contractor may close up to three eastbound lanes on MD 410 and one lane on westbound MD 410. Through lanes of traffic will be maintained in both directions of MD 410 at all times. Access to all parking lots, parking garages and businesses will also be maintained.
