U.S. Congresswoman Edwards Brings Nonprofit Forum to Silver Spring

On May 16th, Rep. Donna Edwards is set to host her annual nonprofit forum from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Silver Spring is thriving with nonprofits supporting people in local communities fight poverty, hunger, discrimination, and violence. U.S. Congresswoman Donna Edwards (D), representative of the 4th district, which includes parts of Silver Spring, is hosting an annual nonprofit forum on Monday, May 16.

Her event will include four separate tracks, "Build it! Grow it! Fund it! Sustain it!" designed to provide those interested in nonprofit work with helpful tools, network connections to build and nurture their organizations.

Rep. Edwards’ district includes both Montgomery County and Prince Georges County. Last year's forum was held at the Prince Georges County Sport and Learning Complex, but this year she is holding it at the Silver Spring Civic Building, in the heart of downtown Silver Spring.

"Nonprofits provide a variety of services in our communities and often serve as a critical lifeline to some of our most vulnerable residents. It is imperative that we help build, grow, and sustain a healthy nonprofit community in Maryland’s 4th Congressional District," said Edwards.

Correction: In an earlier version we wrote that this event would take place Saturday, May 14th that was incorrect. We we regret the error.
