Blair High School Prepares for New Principal

The search for the new Blair principal starts on Cinco de Mayo.

Blair High School's Principal Darryl Williams bids a farewell to the staff and the Silver Spring community of parents and teachers after four years of service.

Williams was recently appointed to the community superintendent position for the Gaithersburg, Clarksburg, Watkins Mill, Magruder and Damascus school cluster, according to the Silver Chips Online.

Within the next three months, Williams will prepare to start his new position on July 1. In the meantime, Bronda Mills, the community superintendent for the local school cluster — Montgomery Blair, Albert Einstein, Northwood, John F. Kennedy — will search for candidates for his position. Students and faculty will have an opportunity to list qualities they think a candidate should have to manage their school to Mills.

As the new community superintendent, Williams will be responsible for providing support to 47 schools within the cluster. That includes working with officials to help schools meet multiple targets and solve issues that arise.

Applicants for Williams' job at Blair will sit before a Montgomery County Public Schools panel to be interviewed as part of the process.
