"Mail Lottery Scams" presentation

WITH FOREIGN LOTTERIES, MORE THAN THE ODDS ARE AGAINST YOU. Every year thousands of elderly citizens are victims of foreign lottery scams. And as America’s population grows older, these scams are expected to increase. Postal Inspectors will offer a presentation to teach seniors how to protect themselves and their loved ones from these scams on June 20 from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Schweinhaut Senior Center at Forest Glen in Silver Spring. The event will also feature a Maryland resident explain how he became a victim to foreign lottery scams, losing his entire life savings to these schemes. Come hear him tell his story that demonstrates how prevalent and destructive these scams are to elderly citizens.
