Whiz Kid: Calvin Kane
This Whiz Kid is a Model Gladiator Award Finalist, captain of the Northwood football team, loves music and is an avid gamer.
Meet Calvin Kane:
- A senior at , Kane holds a 4.37 weighted GPA, has been captain of Northwood’s football and track & field teams and has accumulated 105 Student Service Learning Hours.
- Kane is also an avid fan of computers (since the age of two – see photo), enjoys listening to music and serves as an academic tutor at .
- When asked about Calvin, Northwood track coach Mark Brown said “He begins practice on time, he organizes the athletes for the coaches, he directs them on and off of the field, and he helps his teammates if and whenever they need it. … Simply put, Calvin’s talents can be replaced, Calvin cannot.”
- Kane plans to study Engineering in college and has already been admitted to the honors program at The University of Maryland.
