Whiz Kid: Caryne Moses Receives $1,000 Comcast Scholarship

Since the program's inception there have been over 17,000 scholarship winners totaling more than $17.2 million.

Caryne Moses, a senior at Montgomery Blair High School, was one of 100 students statewide that received a scholarship from the Comcast Foundation.

The program, one of the Comcast Foundation’s signature community investment programs, recognizes students’ leadership skills, academic achievement and commitment to community service.

Comcast officials were joined by Interim State Superintendent of Schools Bernard J. Sadusky and other government officials as students were recognized duiring the March 22nd event held at the Historic Inns of Annapolis.

Ninety-nine of the 2012 Maryland Leaders and Achievers recipients received $1,000 scholarships and Micah Connor of Coppin Academy High School in Baltimore City was awarded a $10,000 Comcast Founders Scholarship - instituted in honor of Ralph J. Roberts, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Comcast Corporation - for a total of $109,000 awarded this year.
