On a beautiful autumn day, an enthusiastic group of friends and supporters joined Maryland State Senator Jamie Raskin (D-20) and State Delegates Sheila Hixson and Tom Hucker as they walked through parts of Maryland Legislative District 20 on Saturday, October 26, kicking off their 2013 re-election campaigns.

The walk began on Milestone Drive in the White Oak section of Silver Spring, and continued to Takoma Park with stops at the Silver Spring YMCA, Fenton Street Market, the Maple Avenue Farmer's Market, the Takoma Park Community Kitchen, ending at VFW Post 350 on Orchard Avenue in Takoma Park.

The group walked through the Silver Spring neighborhoods of Woodmoor, Indian Spring, Sligo Branview, Park Hills and East Silver Spring.  In the Indian Spring neighborhood, the group was greeted by Evan Glass, President of the Indian Spring Citizens Association.  In the Park Hills neighborhood, Park Hills Civic Association President and Democratic Precinct Chair Alan Bowser welcomed the group which stopped for a picture at the Silver Spring International Middle School.
