Mr Wash Car Wash Joins "Wash to Save the Bay" Program

All six area Mr Wash locations in the D.C. metro, including Silver Spring, will participate in a June 7 fundraiser for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

From a news release:

Mr Wash Car Wash locations in the Washington, D.C. area will participate in “Wash to Save the Bay” program on June 7. The rain date is June 14.

This includes the Mr Wash Silver Spring at 7996 Georgia Ave.

The event, sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Carwash Association, will
provide financial support to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Mr Wash has agreed to donate a portion of every sale from the Lava Car Wash service at all six Mr Wash locations to the foundation.

This speaks to the important role professional car washing plays in keepings soaps, road salts, and other chemicals out of our waterways, the company said in a news release. Water used in driveway washing runs into storm drains that
lead to the Chesapeake Bay. However, the water used by professional carwashes goes into the sewer system, which protects the Chesapeake Bay from harmful substances.
