PHOTOS: Anatomy of Sports Promotes Muscle Awareness
Attendees enjoyed learning about how their muscle groups operate.
The Anatomy of Sports Program held by the National Museum of Health and Medicine, a Silver Spring-based company, brought 200 particpants on Saturday.
Participates walked from tent to tent learning their muscle groups from various athletes while they were demonstrating sports.

"The event brought together local athletes, medical illustrators and physical and occupational therapists to highlight key anatomy used during a variety of sports, and to visualize the way bodies move. Participants also learned about common sports injuries and rehabilitation," said Andrea Schierkolk, the public programs manager.
