ICC 10 Mile Family Bike Ride & 5K Walk/Run

Walk, run, or bike: it makes no difference to us. We just want YOUR participation in the second annual ICC 10-Mile Family Bike and 5K Walk/Run! The race provides a rare opportunity to see the second segment of the Intercounty Connector (ICC)/MD 200 up-close-and-personal by walking, running, or all-new in 2011, by biking!

The chipped run and walk (the bike event will not be timed) which benefits Special Olympics Maryland, will be held Sunday, Oct. 23 at 9 a.m. in Silver Spring, Md. For full details and to register, click here. There is no official start time for the bike portion of the race, but all bikers should be off the course by around 9 a.m. According to Maryland law, all bikers under age 16 must wear a helmet to participate in the 10-mile ride.

The event is hosted by the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) and the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA), both long-time supporters of SOMD.

You can help make it even better by recruiting a friend or family member to enjoy the beautiful day with you! It will be double the fun for you, and double the benefit to the athletes who train and compete in Special Olympics Maryland all year long.

Hope to see you there!
