Rising Stone Ridge sophomore receives a hero's welcome at Dulles Monday night.

Montgomery County's own Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky returned home from London Monday evening to a crowd of friends and supporters at Dulles International Airport, WJLA reported.

At 15, Ledecky is the youngest member of the 2012 U.S. Olympic team. Back home in Bethesda, friends and classmates gathered at Stone Ridge for a watch party Friday,

Monday night, Ledecky was greeted with the same enthusiasm at Dulles.

"It is great to see them right away here. The gold medal is all of them too and so it means a lot," Ledecky told WJLA. "...to have them here is really nice.”

She added, “It’s still sinking in.”

Asked about her experience in London, Ledecky told WUSA9, “It was so much fun. It was just a great experience. I loved it.”

As for her plans for the summer, Ledecky told reporters she’s planning on getting some rest and getting ready for school to start in three weeks.
