'Man of the Year' Helps in the Fight Against Cancer

"The General Electric executive set a new local record for the most ever raised by a candidate in this campaign."

After battling cancer for 13 years Eric Allen, a Leukemia survivor, took  part in the mission to raise money to thwart the disease with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society during their 10-week campaign.

In total, the organization raised $1,010,000, breaking the record of previous year's fundraisers.

Out that grand total, Allen, a Silver Spring resident, helped to raise a record breaking $170,000 for the mission of LLS. This achievement was recognized Saturday at the Grand Finale Gala at The Ritz-Carlton in D.C. Allen was joined by his wife and twins daughter to share the moment.
