Spanish Ballroom's 80th Anniversary—Free Dance Lessons

What: Celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Glen Echo’s Spanish Ballroom with free dance lessons, inclusing contra, swing and the waltz.

When/Where/How Much: Saturday, June 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Spanish Ballroom at Glen Echo Park. Free.

Smithsonian Folklife Festival

What: This year’s Smithsonian Folklife festival features food, music, art, exhibits and more, focusing on Hungarian Heritage, African-American dress and Endangered Languages and Cultural Heritage.

When/Where/How Much: June 26 to 30 and July 3 to 7, from 11 a.m. 5:30 p.m. on the National Mall between 7th & 14th streets. Free.

Montgomery County Heritage Days

What: Explore the history, natural beauty and culture of Montgomery County through music, crafts, demonstrations, outdoor fun and more during the last weekend in June.

When/Where/How Much: June 29 to 30, from noon to 4 p.m. at various sites across Montgomery County, including Gaithersburg, Clarksburg, Hyattstown, Sandy Spring, Glen Echo, Rockville, Silver Spring and Boyds.

AT&T National Golf Tournament

What: Watch some of the world’s best golfers compete at Congressional Country Club.

When/Where/How Much: While the event started on June 25, the action really heats up in the final rounds over the weekend. Congressional Golf Course is located in Bethesda, but it is suggested that visitors take free shuttles from the Rock Spring Lot or the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. Tickets are available online and range from $10 to $250.

Miss Africa USA Pageant

What: Contestants from 25 African countries compete for the title of “Miss Africa USA.”

When/Where/How Much: The Fillmore Silver Spring, 8656 Colesville Rd., Silver Spring. Saturday, June 29 at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $37 to $102 and are available online.

35th Annual Montpelier Summer Concert Series

What: Enjoy classic rock, R&B and Top 40 hits from the band Saturday.

When/Where/How Much: Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Montpelier Mansion Grounds, 9652 Muirkirk Rd., Laurel. Admission is FREE.

Blues, Brews and Barbeque

What: Six Flag’s Annual event features blues music bands, craft beers and a barbecue contest.

When/Where/How Much: Saturday, June 29, at Six Flags America, 13710 Central Ave., Upper Marlboro. The event is FREE with paid admission.

Pops on the Potomac

What: Enjoy the Orchestra at National Harbor performing lighthearted orchestral favorites against the spectacular backdrop of the sun setting over the Potomac.

When/Where/How Much: Saturday, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the National Harbor, 137 National Plaza, National Harbor, MD. FREE.
