Police Find Radio Shack Robbery Suspect Inside Taxi

A 21-year-old woman is charged with armed robbery of the electronics store in Silver Spring.

The call came in shortly before 9 p.m. on May 16: an armed robbery at the Radio Shack on 8213 Georgia Avenue. As police broadcasted a suspect description over the radio, one officer saw a woman matching that description step into a taxi a block away. The officer stopped the taxi and arrested Hawnese Taylor, 21, of the 45500 block of Knockeyon Lane in Great Mills, MD, according to a news release from police. She is charged with armed robbery. Taylor allegedly displayed what appeared to be a handgun when she entered the Radio Shack and announced a robbery. Police said that they found a silver lighter shaped like a handgun and the proceeds of the robbery (money and stolen items) in Taylor's book bag.

Suspect Sought in Colesville Armed Robbery

Police say a man forced a victim at gunpoint to withdraw cash from a Citibank ATM.

Authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect accused of an armed robbery Thursday in Colesville. Montgomery County Police say they received a report of a robbery at a Citibank (13440 New Hampshire Ave.) around 8:33 p.m. A 48-year-old man at the scene told officers that he had been using an ATM in the bank's vestibule with his four-year-old daughter when a man approached him from behind, police said. The suspect forced a gun into the victim's back and demanded that he take out cash from the ATM, according to police. After the victim complied, the gunman allegedly fled on foot towards Randolph Road. The suspect is described as a black male with a thin build and facial hair. Silver Spring Man Arrested for Two Wheaton Business Robberies

Jeremiah Jordan McLeod, 19, is charged with robberies of Cricket Wireless and Hollister.

On September 15, Montgomery County Police arrested Jeremiah Jordan McLeod, 19, of Silver Spring for the Sept. 7 armed robbery of the Hollister Company store in the Westfield Wheaton shopping mall. Video surveillance, combined with subsequent investigation by Montgomery County detectives led to the identification of Jeremiah McLeod. During police interrogation, McLeod confessed to the Hollister robbery as well as the Aug. 25 armed robbery of the Cricket Wireless on Georgia Avenue. Today, the suspect was charged with the Cricket Wireless and Hollister Company store armed robberies, first degree assault, theft under $100, and various handgun offenses. McLeod is currently being held on a $250,000 bond for the Hollister robbery.
