Squisito: ‘We Want to Contribute to Community, Not Just Sell Pizzas’
Burtonsville’s upcoming Squisito will be the Annapolis-based company’s first venture into Montgomery County.
Although Squisito is a chain of sit-down pizza restaurants based in and around Annapolis, the franchisee of the company’s upcoming Burtonsville location is a Montgomery County native. The restaurant in Burtonsville Town Square is scheduled to open the first week in July. “Just call me Kensington Johnny,” John Minnick, franchise owner of Squisito in Burtonsville, said with a laugh. He lives in Edgewater, but he’s got deep roots in the county. Minnick grew up in Kensington, where his older sister was part of Albert Einstein High’s first graduating class. I second the idea of an Aldi but I also understand that Giant did a hardball deal to keep any such competiton from getting into their old spot. (That's one of several reasons I refuse to shop at Giant.   more ›
