Silver Spring International Middle School's "Folk Tales for Fun"

The student cast performed familiar plays with an international twist.

The age old folktales many kids learn such as The Tortoise and The Hare, The Bremen Town Musician and Why Bear Have Stumpy Tales were brought to light with an international flavor at the Silver Spring International Middle School. With colorful murals brightly painted by cast members and hand-made costumes sewn by parents, each play illustrated the multi-cultural theme for the evening.  Many parents chipped in to help keep the costs down by donating their time in assembling the sets and finding costumes from thrift stores and their homes while mending them to add glamour and vitality to the outfits.
