Regional Services Center and Cloverly Elementary saw steady numbers.
2:32 p.m.: Just under 300 of the 3,406 registered voters had visited the precinct at Cloverly Elementary School this morning, according to the 10 a.m. read. Republican Chief Judge Ronald Lord said that the stream of voters was steady, if not very heavy. No glitches were reported. Some of the voters who came out were concerned about fiscal issues. Craig Porter of Cloverly said that the issues most important to him were "reduce taxes, more efficient spending of the tax money that we do get, reduction of special interest groups." "Republicans tend to lean more in the direction that I would like to see the county go in, but none of them are perfect," he told Patch. A fellow Republican declined to give his name, but said that he "voted …

Gubernatorial candidate Robert Ehrlich answers questions from Patch readers across the state. This video is part one of a four-part series.
Editor's Note: This video is the second of four we are posting before the Nov. 2 General Election. Both Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley and his Republican rival, Robert L. Ehrlich Jr., agreed to sit down to answer questions from Patch readers, but Ehrlich had to cancel. That's why the quality of the two videos differs. We did our best to reschedule with Ehrlich but ultimately had to settle for a less intimate setting. In this video Ehrlich discusses politics and the use of negative ads in the campaign. "If you don't vote you can't complain," Ehrlich said. "It's an angst ridden environment out there." He said voters are most concerned about the economy. "Last time, it was, people could not wait to vote against the war and Republicans," …
Craig Zucker says he has what it takes to serve in hard economic times: years of experience in juggling multi-billion dollar Maryland state budgets, coupled with deep knowledge of tax policy that he would use to create jobs.

Tweet reactions to interviews using #Patch101010 hashtag. This week we spoke to candidates vying to represent District 14 in Maryland's House of Delegates. Democrat Craig Zucker is a Brookeville resident who is currently the deputy chief of staff to Peter Franchot, Maryland's comptroller. He told Patch that he ran for office in order to keep "an eye on the state's money" and to "build a better future for the district, the state and the county." Patch asked the …

From ambulance fees to community gardens to county scholarships, Patch assessed local resources.
Another week at Colesville Patch is ending and it has been one of many important discussions. We got the wider perspective on county issues with an article on the proposed ambulance fees and brought news of a new cardinal for our area, a college scholarship awarded to Montgomery County and one of the many free resources at the Regional Services Center. Some of our favorite stories involved farming: "Farm Fresh" reporter Beth Borzone detailed how the "Spencerville Red" apple came to market and Catherine Krikstan wrote a profile on the Briggs Chaney community garden. Krikstan also attended a recent meeting with the Parks Department and Montgomery County Public Schools about creating more community gardens. That story will be featured next …
