Police: Teen Injured in Gang-Related Shooting
A 16-year-old was shot in the leg in Silver Spring.
Montgomery County police are investigating a May 10 shooting in Silver Spring that they believe may have been gang related. At approximately 8:40 p.m. that Friday, police officers responded to the 8700 block of Piney Branch Road for the report of a shooting, according to a news release from police. Multiple 911 calls reported the sound of gunshots and people running and yelling. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 16-year-old shot in the leg. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
