County Liquor Board Report: Sales to Minors Down

Colesville vendors received one citation this year while licensees in White Oak received three.

Willy Obeid is really, really committed to not selling any of his restaurant's beer and wine to minors. As he hurriedly recounts the circumstances that led to his liquor control citation for selling alcohol to a minor, Obeid repeatedly interjects that "it'll never happen again."  Obeid is the manager of Cheesesteak Mike's, a tiny place on New Hampshire Avenue that's known for nearly authentic Philly cheesesteaks, homemade potato chips and readily available cold beer. The place was punished with a $1,000 fine from Montgomery County's Department of Liquor Control in April, but it was one of the few places in the area, and in the whole county, to violate the law of selling alcohol to minors.  After an inspection of Violation Reports from 2010…
