UPDATED: Snow In the Forecast Wednesday

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Montgomery County starting at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 8, but it cancelled the advisory in the afternoon.

Update (Feb. 8, 4:30 p.m.): The National Weather Service has cancelled this winter weather advisory. Although forecasters are still expecting light snowfall this evening, only about a half of an inch of snow will accumulate. Original post (Feb. 8, 10:15 a.m.): The springtime-like weather of Tuesday will no longer exist as snow is forecasted for Wednesday afternoon. The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Montgomery County, stating there was a 100-percent chance of precipitation. Good-bye Fall, Welcome Chill

It's getting chilly, but no snow in the seven-day forecast. Yet.

It snowed in October. November was unseasonably warm. It’s time to face reality. All indications are pointing to actual normal seasonal weather in December in the Washington, D.C. suburbs. We're talking about winter, which makes its official meteorological entrance Thursday. Temperatures will drop just above freezing Wednesday night and west winds during the day could whip as fast as 15 mph.  Highs will be in the 50s all week, and the chance of showers in the colder weather starts Monday, Dec. 5. This comes after a warm November when there were four days with temperatures more than 70 degrees in the region, netting 62 degrees as the average high temperature.
