Alicia Briancon, Neighbor

While Alicia Briancon graduated from the University of Maryland without a journalism background, she loves interviewing locals and writing about issues important to the Silver Spring community.  She is a long-term Montgomery County resident, but recently moved to Silver Spring last May, after leaving law school in Alabama. 

She developed a passion for legislation and public affairs through two congressional internships.  She also worked in a public affairs firm with a former White House spokesmen for the National Drug Policy Office, where her op-ed article “Judging the Judges” made it to the front page of OpEdNews.com.  She works for Congress, and she is glad to have the opportunity to be writing and making an impact, however small it may be.  Alicia lives with her boyfriend, Sean and their Chihuahua, Bruiser, and kitten, Ellie.
