Silver Spring Man Says He Murdered Mother
Police: Fidel Washington confessed to stabbing his mother to death after a dispute about his unemployment.
A 25-year-old Silver Spring man has been charged with first-degree murder, after Montgomery County police said he confessed to stabbing his mother to death.
Police arrested Fidel Washington of the 9700 block of Mt. Pisgah Road on Friday after finding him in the apartment he shared with his mother, Esperanza Valle. During questioning, Washington confessed to the murder and said that he and his mother had an argument about him not having a job, according to a county police news release.
Police found Valle, 50, with multiple stab wounds inside the apartment, after one of her co-workers notified police that she had not shown up to work recently.
